THREE-DAY ADVENTURE ITINERARY

Three Days, The Full Denali Adventure

Note: Booking in peak season (July–August), secure ATV and Zipline reservations before your trip. Both fill quickly.


Book the Glacier Landing for the flagship experience. You fly over the Alaska Range, land on a glacier, and walk on it. Weather determines every departure, check conditions the night before and have a backup plan. This is the tour guests describe as "if you can afford it, do it."

Denali Wilderness ATV Adventure

Explore Alaska's Stampede Corridor on a guided ATV adventure. Cover 10+ miles of wilderness trails with panoramic overlooks, creek crossings, and chances to spot moose, caribou, and bears. Open to all experience levels and ages.

TWO-DAY COMPACT VERSION

Two Days, Compressed Adventure

If three days isn't possible, here's the two-day version that covers the most ground.

Day 1:

ATV (morning) + Zipline (afternoon) + Glacier Landing (if weather and scheduling allow, book for early morning and the ATV/Zipline for afternoon)

Day 2:

Canyon Wave rafting (morning) + Jeep Highway tour (afternoon start, though note this is a full-day tour, so you'd begin around midday and finish in the evening)

Alternatively:

Day 2 drops the Jeep and replaces it with the Denali National Park self-drive, which takes 1–2 hours and adds the national park experience without a full-day commitment.

ADD-ONS FOR A LONGER TRIP

Guided Hiking: Northern Epics naturalist hikes range from easy-moderate to challenging alpine routes. Add a half-day hike on Day 3 before the Jeep tour, or on a standalone fourth day.


  • Helicopter Glacier Landing: If budget allows, the helicopter glacier landing is a different experience from the fixed-wing Glacier Landing, different aircraft, different approach, different terrain access. Some guests do both on consecutive days.


  • Husky Homestead: Jeff King's Iditarod operation is worth an evening visit if sled dog history or puppy interaction is on the list. Doesn't take a full day.

How Your Tour Works

Book first

Glacier Landing flightseeing. Weather dependency means booking as early as possible and keeping a flexible schedule around it. July and August dates for the most popular flightseeing tours fill weeks out.

Book second

ATV and Zipline. These are the most-booked activities and also fill in peak season.

Book last

Jeep tour and rafting tend to have more availability but still benefit from advance booking in July and August.

Hotel pickup

Most DPA tours offer transportation from Denali-area hotels. Check at booking.

Questions Before You Book

  • Is this itinerary physically demanding?

    Day 1 is the most active, ATV riding and zipline both involve physical engagement. The zipline involves climbing stairs at each platform. Day 2 (flightseeing + rafting) is moderate, the rafting requires some physical exertion, especially in the Canyon Wave whitewater. Day 3 (Jeep tour) is entirely seated. Most guests in good health handle all three days without difficulty.

  • What if the Glacier Landing gets cancelled due to weather?

    If Fly Denali cancels the Glacier Landing flightseeing tour due to weather, guests receive a full refund. Book flightseeing early in your trip if possible, since it gives more days to find a weather window.

  • Can I do the ATV and Zipline on the same day?

    Yes. This is the most common same-day combination in the Denali area. Both run under 4 hours. Book the ATV for a morning slot and Zipline for mid-afternoon.

  • What's the best order for the activities?

    The suggested order (ATV/Zipline → Glacier Landing/Rafting → Jeep) works well because the Jeep tour is the least physically demanding and functions as a good capstone day. Flightseeing first thing in the morning gives the best light and the best weather window before afternoon cloud buildup.
