Details
Slow down and step into the forest of Denali National Park on a leisurely, guided nature walk unlike anything else in the region. As you stroll, your guide brings the landscape to life, sharing the plants, animals, ecology, geology, and interconnected systems that make Denali one of the most extraordinary places on earth. Along the way, taste the exotic edible berries that blanket Denali's forests, including the elusive and legendary cloudberry.
Your guide is no ordinary tour leader. They are a certified Naturalist with deep expertise in the Denali ecosystem, ready to answer any question you can throw at them. They carry bear spray and are trained for wildlife encounters, and their Wilderness First Responder certification makes them more prepared for a backcountry emergency than a standard EMT. You're in exceptionally good hands. This is your chance to feel the soft peat moss beneath your feet, taste flavors you won't find anywhere else, and see Denali the way very few visitors ever do. The walk is simply the canvas. Your guide is the one who paints it.

A NATURALIST'S DREAM HIKE THROUGH DENALI
My naturalist hike with Jade was amazing! We got to cover a lot of ground and I learned so much about the native flora and fauna. There is so much biodiversity in Denali and I’m glad to have learned more about it.

FROM EASY STROLLS TO EPIC CLIMBS
This year we did three hikes Northern Epics tours. First we did the Naturalist Walking Tour with Jade and my parents who are in their 80's. This was an easy hike for those of us that move a little slower. Jade was wonderful! Patient, Extremely knowledgeable and a great story teller.

Policies
Weather Policy
Every effort is made to ensure your hike takes place as planned. Tours continue in rain, cold, and heat, but cannot operate in hazardous conditions. In the event of lightning, heavy smoke, high winds, or ice, a tour may need to be modified or canceled. If modifications are necessary, guests will be notified and may opt for a full refund. In the rare case of a full cancellation, a full refund is issued.
Cancellation Policy
You can cancel for a full refund anytime until your guide arrives to pick you up! That means that you don’t have to worry about getting sick, the weather being bad, your flight being delayed, or anything else!
Child Policy
Children of any age are welcome on this tour as long as they’re either able to walk the whole time at the pace of the group or be carried by parents.
Shuttle Availability
All guests are provided complimentary pickup for every tour. Pickup is available from any local hotel, lodge, or arranged custom location—simply provide the location. A text message from the assigned guide is sent the day before the tour with the exact pickup time, meeting location, and any other details you need to know for your hike.
Special requirements
Small children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Our guides love kids, but they can't chase down runaway children and guide a tour at the same time. Believe me, they've tried.
Restrictions
This is a three hour hike. If you have mobility or health issues, I would strongly recommend giving our team a call at (907) 687-2070 to discuss if you'll be up for this hike. It's not very strenuous, but three hours is a long time to be on your feet.
Extras
We provide trekking poles and rain jackets!
