Gold mining operations still work the ground that first drew newcomers rushing north nearly 100 years ago. The Trans Alaska Pipeline cuts across the landscape, a defining symbol of the immense changes that swept across Alaska's Arctic just over 30 years ago when oil was discovered. Then the moment arrives: you cross the Arctic Circle.

The Brooks Mountain Range rises into view, rugged and magnificent, as your route passes just east of Gates of the Arctic National Park,  the wild, pristine jewel of the National Park System.

Touch down 60 miles north of the Arctic Circle at Coldfoot, a community nestled in the heart of the Brooks Range, in a landing that feels every bit as ceremonious as the achievement it marks. Receive your official Arctic Circle Adventure Certificate, enjoy an orientation, and discover the fascinating story of the Brooks Range wilderness surrounding you. Few travelers make it this far north,  and now you have.

Passenger Weights: In order to calculate aircraft take-off weight and balancing, accurate individual passenger weights are required at time of reservation. If you misstate your weight by more than 10% and this causes us to be unable to accommodate all scheduled passengers, your deposit will not be returned and you will be charged the balance due.

Food is not included; however, guests can order a bag lunch during check-in. Upon landing in Coldfoot, the bag lunch is delivered by the guide.

Guest safety always takes precedence over convenience. Weather in Alaska's Arctic can and does affect flying conditions. Weather conditions always dictate safe flight altitude. At times it is necessary to fly above cloud cover, thus reducing or even eliminating aerial visibility. It is not unusual for flight departure times to be delayed from 15 minutes to over an hour. On rare occasions, weather or other uncontrollable circumstances may require alteration/cancellation of a portion or all of the scheduled tour itinerary.

Ground tour vehicles, 15-passenger vans, are CB radio equipped.

Alaska's Arctic is a truly remote wilderness region. Medical facilities are limited. Limited communication and transportation infrastructure inherently cause evacuation for illness or other emergency situations to take, at the very best, several hours to conduct. For this reason, travelers to this region should be of reasonable health and physical condition.
