Choose Your ATV Tour
Denali ATV tours run through the wilderness surrounding Denali National Park, giving riders access to backcountry terrain the park bus does not reach. Denali Park Adventures has run Denali ATV Adventures from our staging area on Otto Lake Road in Healy, Alaska since 2007, long before most operators in the region were running tours through the Stampede Corridor. No previous ATV experience is required. Multiple vehicle sizes accommodate solo riders, couples, and groups of up to six guests.

RECOMMENDED: 2.5 HOUR WILDERNESS ATV TOUR
First Time? You're in the Right Place
No previous ATV experience needed. Before you roll, your guide walks you through vehicle controls, speed limits, and trail protocol. Side-by-side vehicles and ATVs do the hard work. You steer, and your guide leads. Guests in their 70s complete this tour every season. If you're wondering whether you can do this, the answer is yes.

RECOMMENDED: 3.5 HOUR TRAILBLAZER ATV TOUR
Ready for More Miles
Same vehicles as the Wilderness tour, more terrain. Built for guests who want to stay out longer and cover more ground. You're comfortable in the vehicle, comfortable with backcountry conditions, and ready to push further into the trail network. Still guided throughout.

RECOMMENDED: MIDNIGHT SUN ATV TOUR (SEASONAL)
Ride When the Sun Won't Set
Alaska's summer nights stay bright well past sunset. This tour runs in the evening when the light turns gold and the trail feels entirely different. Same terrain as the Wilderness tour. Same guides. A different experience entirely.

Fantastic Experience!
Fantastic experience! The equipment was great, the scenery was awesome, and we felt safe and looked after. I gotta say what really put this over the top as the experience of a lifetime were our guides Stefan and Jeremiah. Those guys are AWESOME!! Very knowledgeable about the area, they pointed out several points of interest and answered everyone's questions along the way. Our shuttle bus drivers were also great, very friendly and accommodating. Overall, I'll give Denali ATV 6 stars if Yelp would let me. Highly recommended!

Thanks guys for a great memory
Took this ATV tour on Aug 9th and it was a blast. Although it was rainy, muddy, that just added to the experience. Our guides Bumblebee, Skeeter, and Bucket were great. The views were diminished due to the rain, but the trail experience and the drive thru the dry creek bed was awesome. The leads all participated in explaining different aspects of the stops we made and really enhanced the tour. I highly recommend this ATV experience if you are in the Denali Park area. Well worth it. Thanks, guys, for a great memory of our time in Denali!

Beautiful, fun adventure!
Our family of 5 (ages 23-67) really enjoyed our atv adventure. We each rode our own ATV and had a blast. PIckup/dropoff from our hotel was super convenient. The guides were personable and informative. We stopped up top for beautiful evening views and then again in the dry creek bed for setting sun pictures. We ended with a ride through the creek and as we were almost back to the start, a mama moose and her baby walked right beside us! Beautiful, fun adventure! Highly recommend.

Questions Before You Book
Real answers to the questions guests ask most before booking.
Do I need ATV experience to join a tour?
No. Most of our guests have never driven an ATV or side-by-side before. Before the tour starts, your guide walks through vehicle controls, speed, and trail protocol at the staging area. We move at a pace that works for your group. If it's your first time, you're in exactly the right place.
Is this appropriate for older adults or guests with physical concerns?
Yes. Guests from 8 to 84 have completed this tour. Side-by-side vehicles do most of the mechanical work, making the ride accessible even if hiking or walking tours are not the right fit. We do cross bumpy terrain. If you have concerns about knees, hips, or back, call us before booking.
Are the ATV trails inside Denali National Park?
No. Our trails run through the wilderness surrounding Denali National Park. This is public backcountry land that ATVs can access and the park bus cannot. The terrain we ride through is real backcountry: creek crossings, muddy trails, and unobstructed Alaska Range views.
Is pricing per person or per vehicle?
Pricing is per vehicle, not per person. A single-rider ATV starts at $155. A 4-rider Wolverine X4 is $370, which works out to $92.50 per person. A 5 to 6 rider Viking VI is $450, as low as $75 per person. For couples and families, larger vehicles are almost always the better value.
Will I get muddy?
Probably. Creek crossings are part of the trail. That's not a warning. For most guests it's a selling point. The mud is real. The Alaska Range backdrop is also real. Both are better than the park bus.
What's Included?
Every ATV tour includes the following:
- Certified Guide
- Helmet
- Riding Gloves
- Goggles
What should I wear?
Layers (it can drop 15° in the shade), closed-toe shoes that can get wet, a neck gaiter for dust, and sunglasses. We provide the helmet and safety gear. Wear something you don't mind getting muddy or wet.
What should I bring?
Here's what to bring on your ATV tour:
- Closed-toe Shoes (Required)
- Face Mask (buff style face mask available for purchase)
- Warm Layers
- Rain Gear (disposable poncho available for purchase)
- Camera
- Driver's License
- Non-alcoholic drinks and snacks
- Cash for guide gratuities (optional)
