Adventure. Authenticity. Exploration. This tour embodies these three ideas. Leave the trails and cookie-cutter tours behind. Venture off-trail through Denali’s magical boreal forest on a Denali nature walk. Leave the navigation to your guide – they’re an expert.
Put your present self into your future shoes for a moment. Your feet sink into the deep peat moss that carpets the forest floor. Your guide hands you a fistful of wild blueberries. They’re tastier than the ones you bought from the store. The complex flavors wash over your palette as your guide tells you about the nutritional benefits. Out of the corner of your eye you spot movement! A snowshoe hare. It hasn’t fully lost its ivory-white winter coat yet. Your guide decides to change course and follow the hare. Why not? You’re not on a trail after all.
That moment — the taste of wild blueberries, the soft moss underfoot — is exactly what we want you to feel. The Wilderness Wonders Tour was built to create those moments. The scene I laid out for you isn’t an outlier. The magic begins when you leave the trail.
Unfortunately, due to the high skill level required to guide tours like this, most companies don’t offer them. You won’t get many chances to experience something like this. Don’t let the opportunity slip away. Availabilities are first-come-first-serve, so don’t wait for someone else to decide your vacation’s fate.
Every effort is made to ensure your hike takes place as planned. Tours continue in rain, cold, and heat, but cannot operate in hazardous conditions. In the event of lightning, heavy smoke, high winds, or ice, a tour may need to be modified or canceled. If modifications are necessary, guests will be notified and may opt for a full refund. In the rare case of a full cancellation, a full refund is issued.
You can cancel for a full refund anytime until your guide arrives to pick you up! That means that you don’t have to worry about getting sick, the weather being bad, your flight being delayed, or anything else!
Children of any age are welcome on this tour as long as they’re either able to walk the whole time at the pace of the group or be carried by parents.
All guests are provided complimentary pickup for every tour. Pickup is available from any local hotel, lodge, or arranged custom location—simply provide the location. A text message from the assigned guide is sent the day before the tour with the exact pickup time, meeting location, and any other details you need to know for your hike.
